WOW! What an amazing week!
Language Arts:
Nate continues to enjoy Hardy
Boys. He only has a few novels
left in the original series! He went to the library and got out
more MacGyver DVDs…Season 3 – The end! He
practiced his spelling words using Spelling City. He did some Daily Grams.
Math:
Nate finished Lesson 26 and
watched the DVD lesson for 27 and did the lessons. He is learning about the area and
circumference of a circle.
Science:
Nate got a crystal glass and
did the “ring sound” by running his finger around the edge of the glass. Now we’ll have to investigate why this
happens. But the most amazing science
this week was a trip to the Big Little Science Center in Kamloops. Nate learned about water and its properties. He made huge bubbles. He got to “play” science! There were three rooms filled with hands-on
science things that he could play with.
He enjoyed the sound-proof room where he could scream and no one could
hear him and so many other experiments.
Social Studies:
Nate is listening to David
Thompson – Map Maker. On his trip to
Kamloops he was able to see the North Thompson, South Thompson, and Thompson
Rivers that are named after David Thompson by Simon Fraser. He completed his history of Canada! He updated his Book of Centuries. He finished Canada Map Book 6.
Other stuff:
Nate got to stay at the cabin
with his dad!!!!
He helped make homemade beef
soup. It was delicious.
He stopped at Green
Lake. There are huge cracks in the lake
and it looks very green!
iPad:
Nate continues to play games,
look up information on the internet, take photos, play music, garage band,
etc. Sooooooo many great apps for
learning and FUN!
Visit:
Nate went to another ranch
and visited the Thiessen family. They
had baby chick so Nate enjoyed cuddling them and learning about them!
He went for a quad ride with the girls and
checked for new calves. He watched Ice
Age 3 because it was raining.
PE: Nate got a “new to him” bike and is enjoying
all the gears!
