Week 29 – April 8, 2012 – April 14, 2012


Language Arts:
Nate, Sarah, and I read a poem called The Seasons and then we worked on a rhyming couplet poem together.  We did one funny verse for each of us.  We used the Scholastic Rhyming Dictionary.  He went to the library.  He watched some MacGyver episodes.
Math:
Lesson 23 – watched DVD and did the lessons.
Science:
Nate finished recording his mold experiment.  WOW!  Did that mold ever grow fast!
Nate did some research on the Hubble Space Telescope, the moon phases, and other interesting information about space using his iPad.
Nate heard an owl and a woodpecker.  He saw two butterflies.  We watched the snow melting and watching which way the water was flowing.   I think spring is coming!
Social Studies:
We enjoyed a turkey dinner together as a family to celebrate Easter.  And of course we had chocolate.
We did a lot of Canadian history again this week.  He finished listening to Captain of the Discovery.  He started listening to The Savage River about Simon Fraser exploring the river.
He learned about Alexander Mackenzie and did mapwork.  He added the information to his Book of Centuries.
Other Stuff:
Nate and I went on a quad ride in the mud to rescue dad and Sarah after the tractor broke down.
He helped make homemade turkey soup.
He went to Williams Lake and spend some time hanging out with his brother and sister while I went to a meeting.
iPad:
Science research, dictionary, games, flight simulator,
PE:
Nate rode his bike to the gravel pit and then enjoyed digging a “cave”.  And Nate went to his last swimming lesson for Red Cross Level 7…He passed!!!!  Congratulations, Nate!  You did an awesome job!
